Jeff Tognoni is president and CEO of Forterro. He began his tenure in August 2012, shortly after Jeeves was taken private by Battery Ventures. An entrepreneur and executive, Jeff brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry and a successful track record of profitably growing software companies to Forterro.
Prior to joining Forterro, Jeff spent nine years as president and CEO of Consona Corporation, a Battery Ventures- and Thoma Bravo-owned software application company that housed 13 ERP and CRM products, serving a wide range of vertical industries (primarily in manufacturing, high tech and professional services) and a broad span of company sizes (ranging from the lower midmarket to Fortune 1000 companies) worldwide. Under his leadership, Consona grew from around $30 million in revenue and 200 employees to over $120 million in revenue and more than 700 employees. During his tenure at Consona and at present, Jeff remains an active investor in the software industry, and has served on the board of directors for several successful software companies.
Jeff has served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Battery Ventures, and held CEO positions at several software companies, including Millennium Dynamics, iKnowledge Inc., EC Cubed and Zeborg. His roles at various companies have given him experience across the gamut of the software industry, including enterprise application software (i.e., ERP, CRM, vertical applications and FINTECH), as well as database software, system software, development tools and BI/analytics software.
Jeff began his career in business development, sales and marketing with Wismer Associates—now a part of SunGard Data Systems and Dunn and Bradstreet Software. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Jeff helped build the CASE software division of Texas Instruments (TI) to $280 million in sales before it was sold to Sterling Software in 1997. At TI, he rose through sales, services and international executive positions to become general manager of the enterprise business unit.
Jeff holds a B.S. in geological engineering from the University of Arizona and an M.B.A. in international finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
