Scott Malia joined Forterro in May 2013 as the company's Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Scott works closely with the general managers of Forterro's business units, focusing on product management, marketing, sales, service and support.
Prior to joining Forterro, Scott served as COO of Consona Corporation, an American software application company that housed 13 ERP and CRM products, serving a wide range of vertical industries and a broad span of company sizes worldwide.
Scott rose through positions in sales and sales management while at Consona, and began serving on the company’s executive leadership team in 2003 when the company was acquired and taken private by Battery Ventures. In 2006, Scott became general manager of the company’s ERP (enterprise resource planning) business unit, and in 2008, of the company’s ERP division after additional products were added to Scott’s oversight. He served in this role until he was promoted to COO when Consona merged its CRM and ERP divisions under a single management team in 2011. Under Scott’s leadership, Consona grew profitably both organically and by acquisition, significantly expanding its product portfolio and international footprint while nearly quadrupling in size.
Prior to joining Consona, Scott worked at CAD/CAM Engineering as a sales representative and was in charge of launching the company’s reseller channel for the Keywill system, a micro-ERP software package. Scott also spent more than nine years in the manufacturing environment while employed at PM Company, a converter and supplier of business machine rolls and banking and financial products. During his tenure at PM Company, Scott held many positions, including accounting/job costing, production scheduler, production manager and sales representative.
Scott studied business at Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis.
